Mommy and Me!

I was talking to my friend Breanne yesterday and she was telling me how every Wednesday she takes her daughter to story time at the library, to lunch and then to play at the park. I realized that Wyatt and I never do anything out of the ordinary. So I decided that today was going to be our special day! It started by going to lunch at McDonalds. Believe it or not Wyatt has never eaten at McDonalds. And what kid doesn't love Mickey-D's? He got his very own happy meal with chicken nuggets, fries, sprite, and to my surprise the old cookies that they use to put in there. I'm sure you know what I'm talking about. After lunch we went to a park that is only a couple miles from our apartment but we've never gone. It is a fun park with little splash parks and toys everywhere. Wyatt was a little apprehensive at first but once he started playing in the water I couldn't drag him away! It was so cute to watch him run through the fountains and try to play with the other kids. The last thing we did was play on the swings. Wyatt has never been a big fan of swings, but after a few pushes he was loving life! We had such a fun day together and will definitely be doing this more often. Thanks for the idea Bre!

Summer Time!

So I'm probably one of the worst bloggers ever. I think why I put it off is because I never know what to write. I always have a million pictures, but I feel I need to have some long shpill to go along with it. I guess a quick update and pics will have to do.
We are enjoying Florida. Wyatt and I have been having fun playing, swimming and basically just hanging out together all day everyday. It's a good thing we like each other so much! Nick is doing well selling. He's a great manager and all the guys in his office love him. The days are long and tiring, but he never complains. Which is more than I can say for myself. Wyatt is continuing to learn and grown on a daily basis. I think he is going through a growth spurt right now because all of his shorts that fit him a month ago are starting to look more like Daisy Dukes, yet they won't stay up since he has not butt or gut. I wish I could just stop him from growing and keep him my baby forever.

Wyatt has started to really like showers. Whenever he hears the shower turn on he'll run to the bathroom and try to get in. Saturday night Nick came home from work, started the shower and then came into the living room to talk to me. After a bit we realized Wyatt had left the room. We went into the bathroom and this is what we found...

As you can see he was loving life! Nick being the FUN dad that he is, jumped right in with Wyatt and they had a blast showering with their clothes on.

Mother's Day was great! We spent time at the pool, had a nice dinner, and just spent all day together as a family. I would like to pay a little tribute to my mom and thank her for everything she does for me. I have the greatest mom! She is so kind, thoughtful, loving... I could go on and on. I couldn't have chosen a better mom! So thanks for everything mom. I love you to the moon and back!
I also have a wonderful mother-in-law. Sadly we don't get to see her as much, but when we are with her we have the greatest time. She raised a wonderful son and I can't thank her enough for that. Love you Ambie!

We are now in Florida! Wyatt and I got in Wednesday morning. It is so nice to be with Nick, and Wyatt is very happy to be with his daddy again. Nick was worried that Wyatt wouldn't remember him after a month, but he did. Before we came out we were able to spend some extra time with my family. It was a lot of fun, and I'm so grateful for my family and all they did to help me. We also went to the Dodge Circuit National Finals Rodeo last Saturday. My grandpa gets a bunch of tickets every year right in front and invited us to go. Wyatt loved it. He sat on our laps the whole time and just watched. On Sunday we went to Orem and stayed with Michele for a few days. It was a lot of fun to be able to spend some quality time with her. Even though she still had to work, we managed to party it up at night, Wyatt and all. Thanks Meesh, we had a blast!

Wyatt is loving this hot weather. He wants to be outside all of the time. Today we went to the pool for the first time, and he had a great time. After we had come home and I'd given Wyatt a bath, I was cleaning up a few things. He came into my bedroom with his blanket, laid on the floor, and closed his eyes. When I went to pick him up, he opened his eyes, got up and went into his room and stood by his crib. I guess that is his way of letting me know when he's ready for his nap. Wyatt has become very attached to his blanket. I didn't realize it until the other day I was in the car with him fussing, I tried giving him his sippy cup then his paci, but he didn't want anything. As soon as I handed him his blanket he shut right up and went to sleep. I can't believe how smart he is getting. It blows my mind how much he learns every day.

Enjoying the rodeo.

Wyatt's 1st Birthday!

My baby is now 1!! This past year just flew by. Wyatt's birthday was on Friday the 13, and we had a party for him on the 14th. We invited some friends, and my whole family minus my dad and Brianne were there. Nick's brother and sister-in-law were out of town so they couldn't make it either. We missed them all. We had a BBQ, opened presents, then had cake and ice cream. For some reason I decided I wanted to make Wyatt a fancy cake... I will never do it again. It took me all day on Friday to make a main cake and Wyatt's own cake. They didn't turn out quite as I had hoped, but they tasted good. That's all that matters right?! Wyatt was very spoiled by everyone! He got so many great presents, and has loved playing with all of them. Thank you to everyone for the gifts and the birthday wishes. It was a great day!
After Wyatt's party, my mom took Wyatt home with them so Nick and I could spend Valentines Day together. It was a fun night, we went out to dinner and a movie. It's been quite a while since we were able to go out just the 2 of us, and I'm really glad we could spend some quality time together. Nick is such a wonderful thoughtful husband, and the best dad to Wyatt. Wyatt loves his daddy more than anything. More than even me I think. He has become quite the daddy's boy the last couple weeks. He wants nothing to do with me when Nicks around. Hopefully once the summer starts, Wyatt will be okay spending the majority of his time with me. It's definitely been a blessing that I have taken for granted having Nick around this winter. He'll be heading out to Florida in a month or so. Then most of the parenting responsibilities will be mine once again. I can't believe that our summer starts so soon! I guess time really does go by faster when you have kids.

The last couple months I've really been wanting a new camera. We've had our camera for over 3 years now and it just wasn't cutting it for us anymore. On Friday Nick surprised me with an early birthday present... a Nikon D40 camera!!! He was planning on giving it to me on my birthday but he was a little too excited and couldn't wait. It was so sweet and probably one of my top presents ever. I love my hubby! Since then I've been learning a lot about photography and thanks to Jason I feel like I'm improving all ready. Yesterday I went with Jason to take bridal pictures. I was his assistant/student, it was a lot of fun and some of the pictures even turned out pretty good!

Yeah, I'm pretty much a pro now.

Some other things that have been going on...
Wyatt has started getting more interested in walking. It's so cute watching him try to walk, he puts his arms straight out in front of him and takes off. He doesn't really know how to slow down or stop once he gets going, so he usually goes until he falls. He has bumped his head quite a few times, but it usually doesn't seem to phase him. Wyatt has also started waving bye bye, and has learned how to go down stairs. I can't believe my little Wy Guy is going to be 1 in 10 days! It's a little sad, but I'm still not ready for another one yet.

Such a big boy!

He really wanted to go outside

Update!

I am going to try to be better at posting from now on. It has been too long since my last post so I figure I will start now. Everything here is good. Wyatt is now 10 1/2 months old. He's getting so big! He is starting to get into everything, he's not walking yet but getting there. He finally got his first tooth this last week and is working on his second. Right now he is sick with bronchitis so he isn't his usual happy chatty self but hopefully he will get better soon. Our holiday season was a good one. We spent Christmas with my family and it was fun as always. My whole family was there, it was good to all be together. Wyatt was totally spoiled and loved every minute of it! Now it's a new year and I know it's going to be a busy one!
Here are some pics of Christmas and other stuff.

Wyatt's first Santa picture, he didn't know what to think.

Our family Christmas Card

The day before Christmas Eve, I noticed something in Wyatt's ear. I tried to get it out with no luck. The next day we went to my parents house, my sister Britany and I did a little "surgery" to remove the culprit. This is kind of yucky so hopefully it doesn't totally gross you out.

I was in charge of holding his head while Britany used tweezers to get it out.

This was the disgusting little bugger in his ear, a big chunk of ear wax. BARF!!! Needless to say I have been cleaning out his ears extra good since then.

Halloween!

Our Halloween we just hung out at home with some friends and handed out candy to trick-or-treaters. Wyatt did really good in his costume, I thought for sure he would hate the hat and pull off all the ribbon that I spent so much time attaching to it, but he didn't. I wanted Nick to dress up as the scarecrow or tin man, but he didn't want to do it. I know he would have if we would have gone somewhere. I actually made Wyatt's and my costume. I was pretty proud of Wyatt's but could not have done it without my mom. Thanks Mom!
I don't know how you all feel about this, but there was one thing I found interesting when handing out candy. We had quite a few parents come trick-or-treating. I don't mean just coming with their kids and standing at the bottom of the stairs to watch. I mean actually coming up to the door and taking candy. They weren't even dressed up, all they had was a pillow case or a little pumpkin pale. This was a common occurrence that I found to be a little weird. I can't wait for next halloween when Wyatt will be old enough to do a little trick-or-treating of his own!
