We're Alive!

I know what you all are thinking... "Wow Emily, you are the best blogger EVER!" It has obviously been a very long time since my last post. Excuse... None! I've just been lazy. Wyatt and I are now back in Idaho from our summer in Boston, Nick won't be home for about a month. Our summer went well, Nick worked A LOT, and Wyatt and I played A LOT! For the most part we enjoyed our time in Massachusetts. It is beautiful out there, so much history and so many cool things to see. Something we didn't enjoy so much were the "Mass-holes" as Nick puts it. Some of the people there are definitely not as friendly or nice as people I'm used to. But all in all we had a great time!

I'll keep this post short because sadly I'm not on my computer so I don't have pictures to upload and we all know that a post with no pictures just isn't as interesting. But I did want to FINALLY share our exciting news!

**WYATT IS GOING TO BE A BIG BROTHER!**

We are having a little girl due February 3, 2011! We are very excited and cannot wait for her to join us!

I'll do my best to update again soon, pictures included. (Don't hold your breath!)

Wyatt's 2nd Birthday

My baby turned 2 on Saturday! I can't believe how fast the last 2 years have gone. To celebrate Wyatt's birthday my family came over for a little birthday party. Wyatt was very spoiled (as usual), and really enjoyed all of his gifts, some of his favorites are his tricycle from Mimi and Papa, dump truck from Britany and Kassi, punching bag from Ben, and basketball hoop from me and Nick. Thank you everyone for all of the great presents! We had a taco bar for dinner, and I made sports ball cupcakes for desert. Wyatt is growing so fast and it amazes me how many new things he learns everyday. He is talking nonstop, although I'm pretty sure I'm the only person that understands most of what he is saying. He has started telling me he wants a baby. I'm not sure what to do about that one yet. Yesterday in nursery there was a 12 month old baby girl. Wyatt went and sat right next to her, he kept giving her kisses and rubbing her back and head saying, "oh baby." It was so cute. Then on our way home from church he said, "Daddy! Baby a cute. Baby a cute!" I'm so lucky to have such a wonderful little boy. I love my Wyatt!

Happy Anniversary!!

Today Nick and I have been married for 4 years! I can't believe how fast the time has gone. We've been through a lot in our married life... We've lived in Idaho, Virginia, and 2 different cities in Florida (and soon to be Boston), bought a house, had a baby, been through our share of ups and downs, and I wouldn't change a thing! I definitely lucked out when I married Nick, I can't say the same for him, but I am glad that 4 years ago I made the best decision of my life when I said, "yes!" Happy Anniversary Nick, love you long time!!!

A Fun Filled Weekend!

Nick's parents flew down to visit us this last weekend. It was a lot of fun having them here for 4 days. We don't get to see them as much as we'd like, so it was definitely a treat for us. I probably did more this weekend than I have the whole time we've been in Florida. Mac and Ambie flew in Friday morning. After we picked them up at the airport we went to Thomas Edison and Henry Ford's winter estate. They have a museum where you can see all the things they invented. I had no idea all of the things Thomas Edison is responsible for, the light bulb, phonograph, motion picture camera, microscope and much more. It was a lot of fun and very educational.

There are the coolest trees all over the property

Later that night we went to Fort Myers beach to walk around. We got there right as the sun was setting. There is nothing more beautiful than the beach at sunset.

An airplane flew over head, this was Wyatt's expression until it was out of sight

Playing on the beach with Gramps and Nana

The next day we spent the day on Captiva Island. The beach there was so nice and the weather was perfect. The waves were big which made it that much more fun. We all got pretty burned, but it was well worth it!

Wyatt loved collecting shells and chasing the birds up and down the beach

Sunday was a pretty lazy day for us, between spending the previous day at the beach and me throwing my back out (YUCK!), we didn't do much of anything during the day. That night we went to a park and had a little BBQ. The food was yummy and I'm guessing we were too because we all got eaten alive by mosquitos! I have about 20 bites on each leg and all over my arms!
Monday was a sad day... Gramps and Nana had to go home. We were sad to see them go. As we were pulling away from the airport Wyatt pointing to them out the window yelled "Hey! Hey!" I guess trying to figure out why we were leaving them. We are so glad that we were able to spend a long weekend with Nick's parents. They are the greatest! We love you Mom and Dad, see you in a few months!

Update

Our summer is coming to an end. We only have 3 more weeks before Wyatt and I head back to Idaho. I can't believe how fast this summer has flown by. I also can't believe how much Wyatt has grown up in the 3 months that we've been in Florida. He's becoming a little boy. His personality is growing every day. He is actually understanding what I'm saying to him now. If I ask him go throw something away he will, if I ask where he put his paci he'll run and get it for me! I thought the time would never come! Although he has inherited one thing from his dad... I have to say his name about three times before he'll acknowledge that I'm talking to him. :)
Some of the cute things I love that Wyatt does:
-He has learned to flex his muscles, which he thinks is so cool cuz daddy does it too. He will bring his arms really tight into his chest and yells "aarrgh" as loud as he can.
-He has gotten really good at folding his arms and keeping them folded for most of a prayer. As soon as amen is said he throws his arms in the air and sometimes will yell "AMEN."
-Whenever any kind of music turns on he has to start dancing. Nick has taught him some really cool leg moves, for those of you who know Nick's cool leg dance you know what I mean. It's probably the cutest thing I've ever seen.
-He loves books and has started to want to read them all by him self. He'll bring me a book, sit on my lap and "read" the book to me. He won't let me turn the pages and if I try to read he'll put his hand over my mouth.
I love my baby so much. He is getting so smart. It really blows my mind at how much he learns every day. It makes me sad he is growing up so fast, but I'm enjoying every minute of it.

Vacay!

Wyatt and I just got back from a much needed vacation. We started off by going to Lake Powell for 4 days. My aunt and uncle have a houseboat and they invited my family to spend a few days with them on the lake. It was so much fun. My whole family was there. Nick and Nate even flew out to come. We did a lot of wakeboarding, wake surfing, jet skiing, eating and just relaxing. The only bummer was I didn't get much sun.

After Lake Powell Wyatt and I headed to Idaho to spend a little time with my family while Nick had to get back to Florida to work. I forgot how nice Idaho summers are! We spent all day everyday outside. In Florida it is too miserable to be outside so we spend most of our days cooped up in our apartment. Wyatt loved being able to run around and play in the yard. We went swimming with Brianne, Britany, and Kassi at Ross park, played in the wading pool in the yard and Wyatt got to help my dad feed and check cows. It was a lot of fun for both of us.

We were able to go to a family reunion while we were home as well. My mom's family has a reunion every year and I haven't been to one in 4 years. It was so much fun to see my family that I don't get to see very often. We went on a hike one day, there is nothing more beautiful then hiking in the mountains. We were there for July 4th and had our own fireworks show.

We are now back in Florida. As much as I miss Idaho and my family it's so good to be back with Nick again. It gets really hard being away from him and I know he misses Wyatt so much... I'm sure he misses me too :)
